Itü Beylerbeyi primary school
2012
İTU Beylerbeyi Primary School has been arranged in accordance with the 4 + 4 (+4) system. Outdoor areas at different levels, conference halls, pools, sports halls and similar uses arearranged with the combination of classes on different floors according to age groups, the usage areas of each group take place in a horizontal integrity.
Throughout the school, separate small gardens with different characters and uses were preferred instead of a large garden. In this sense, the topography has been evaluated effectively. One of the important decisions is to keep the circulation areas, which are the backbone of the building, wide. Administrative departments are located on this backbone as distributed throughout the building. The lecture theaters on each floor also help to establish spatial relationships between floors. Libraries are located in easily accessible, bright and central places. Thanks to the use of the divided garden, light has been maximized.
In this project, safety has been the most important input affecting all decisions. From material selection to the establishment of the entire school's operating system.
